Dining out
There is no shortage of fresh and local produce in this traditional farming area. If you are looking for somewhere special to dine out, Ludlow has a name for excellent cuisine … from fine dining at La Becasse and Mr. Underhills to the exceptional Green Café at Dinham Mill.
We also recommend:
- The Sun at Winforton… the chefs use local and good quality ingredients and everything is cooked fresh. Award winning (Taste of Hereford) but you need to book at week-ends.
- The Tram at Eardisley is a lovely, family friendly pub with a garden and local ales. It’s all proper home cooking, a very popular place to eat and once again, you really need to book in advance.
- The Stagg at Titley was the first pub to be awarded a Michelin star in 2001. It has a great reputation and is beloved of food journalists. Don’t forget to book well in advance.
- Tomatitos, is a new tapas bar and restaurant in Hay-on-Wye
- Shepherds Ice cream parlour is a coffee house and ice cream parlour in Hay. The ice-creams are all made from local sheep’s milk … a healthier kind of yummy.
Do drop us a note if you discover somewhere special to add to this list.
